Snow has fallen outside and while it's not heavy it's set just enough down to gently cover the wooden benches and ground outside. The chairs have been removed but the lanterns are still out and lit (as well as the little lights that have been replaced with more festive ones) if people want to walk around outside and have private chats among the snow, the trees and the lighting.


Potluck - Food is all around. Got a story about how the food you brought is part of a long standing family tradition? So much the better! But Ignis for his part has been researching and working on bringing the foods he's heard about. So here you'll find an appetizer platter along with a cream cheese tree, turkey, ham, his version of the Crown City roast, stuffing balls, roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables, and of course a few different desserts.

So you can find him making sure the table is decked out in christmas colours and full of food. But as he sets the last appetizer tree down on the table, he nods. "Quite glad to see that you could make it."


Trim a tree A small group of freshly cut green trees are sitting in a corner with room to go around the back. Simple lights are already in place, but there are ornaments with hooks sitting in silent invitation to decorate the tree and gather around as well as different coloured garland too.

But there's plenty of supplies and being able to decorate a tree with Nida last year was all sorts of fun as it will be again this year. So the advisor is definitely happy that nature can come inside at least temporarily.

Ignis stands back and takes a look at the trees with a satisfied sort of nod. "I suppose after the holiday, I will see about replanting it outside." Turning to his guest, there's an easy smile. "It won't do to simply throw it away do you think?"


Gift exchange - Gifts aren't required, but people are free to do so. This can be as private or as public as wished! The royal strategist is busy arranging gifts under the tree, trying to make some sense as to how they should be grouped, so he's on his knees trying to keep the order straight. As soon as someone approaches, he acknowledges their presence with a smile. "Would you mind handing me that blue wrapped gift sitting on the chair right next to you?"

Gar's never had a lot of opportunities for Christmas but once he had he'd really grown fond of it and it meant a lot of him. It meant even more to him that he was there and Tommy was there. As Tommy started to sneak a taste Gar chuckles and he moves to get himself a taste as well.

"You learn quickly usually."

Gar. Tommy grinned over his shoulder at his boyfriend. The person who had never let him down or disappeared. The constant. It was nice that Gar had agreed to meet him here. It was just fucking nice. Even if Christmas wasn’t Tommy’s thing.

“Yeah, but I liked to just watch mom doing the cooking usually.”

Gar hums as he tastes and it's good, just like he had thought it was going to be.

So he leans to give Tommy a quick kiss.

"Yeah but you could see everything she did I bet and then doing the same isn't so hard."

Good, but not perfect. Not like Wanda made it. Which was what made Tommy sad. He felt like he was failing her. It was stupid, but he felt it anyway.

“I got some measurements wrong, I know it. I don’t think I have enough salt this time.”

And given he’d made this dish a whole five times since arriving in this place, he’s clearly been trying. Relenting in his frustration he wrapped an arm around Gar’s waist.

“She’d probably get annoyed at me for stressing over it so much.”

"You'll get it right in time, just need more practice. You can make it for me anytime," Gar says, hugging his arms around Tommy and wishing he could do more for him. He knows there'7s pain he's not really clearly expressing. He knows him and his past well enough for that. He leans against him as the other's arm slips around his waist.

"She definitely would. Food isn't about being perfect."

Damn, but he's so supportive. Tommy smiled at Gar and leaned into the hug.

"Fuck I got lucky with you," Tommy grinned. "Okay, I'll keep practicing. But you know I wanna get it right to remember her better."

[garrrr]

Gar smirks. "You sure did," he says but he got lucky with Tommy too. He nuzzles the other affectionately and makes no move to pull away from him.

"I know."

Cute nuzzle. Tommy was glad for it.

"Wow, humble ain't you?"

[garrrr]

"Nope, why should I be?" Gar laughs, glancing up at him.

Well that's just cute. Tommy puts the bowl down and scoops the man up to embrace him.

"So beautiful."

[garrrr]

Gar laughs and he then rolls his eyes at being called beautiful. Still, there's some eyes around. He holds him close for a moment.

"You're gonna start drawing some attention."

[doubled_speed]

Definitely beautiful though.

"You think I care? They can stare."

[garrrr]

Tommy used to care, at least Gar is pretty sure he had. It feels nice to be in the open with someone you love. He could always be himself with Tommy.

"Really shouldn't be stealing the attention here," he hums.

Yeah, he did used to care. But Gar was all he had left these days. So why shouldn't he love the guy openly?

"I don't know. I like stealing your attention."

[garrrr]

"You always got my attention," Gar snickers. Unless there's a video game or something but then he still has the majority of Gar's attention, let's be honest.

[doubled_speed]

"Good. I like someone having it," Tommy admitted. It was eaiser than getting in his own damn head.

[garrrr]

Gar leans up kissing him again.

"Do you wanna eat, babe?"

[doubled_speed]

"I think a little of everything," Tommy answered. "I'll load up a plate. You want anything?"

[garrrr]

"The same, really," Gar grins.

[doubled_speed]

Well then, Tommy quickly loads up another plate so Gar has food to work with too. Then he leads them over to some table to sit down and enjoy themselves.

"Thanks for coming to this with me."

[garrrr]

Gar grins and he sits down and looks over the plate. There are some perks to having a speedy boyfriend.

"Why wouldn't I? Who else would I go with?" Gar hums and starts to eat heartily.

Tommy curls his legs up on his seat and starts to work food into his mouth. Yeah, this was good. He loved this.

"I don't know. You could have chosen not to come"

[garrrr]

Gar eats happily. The food is good and the company is better. He watches Tommy before glancing around.

"Ah... I still don't know many people here," Gar confesses to Tommy.

"You should reach out," Tommy answered. Because it's good for Gar to get to know people. "Let's see, if you see a nervous looking kid running around, that's Mono. He works for my business. And the dude with the hair done up at the front and the glasses running all this? That's Ignis, he's in charge here and thus my boss when I'm here, but also someone I work with through my business."

Supporting his food needs, Speedy, helping with Gar, and of course all of his kids with the delivery business, Tommy works a LOT.

Gar knows he's right. Still there's a bit of whiplash that he's been dealing with all the world-hopping and everything. He raises his brow at the mention of those particular guys. Maybe he'll make it a point to meet them in particular. Who knows. Still, he starts to eat again and leans toward Tommy comfortably as he studies the people in attendance.

"I met an alien," Gar does say, raising a brow as he glances at the other.

Gar tries to help with all the work but with Tommy's speed it always feels like he's playing catch up.
