Fall meant a change of seasons. A change of seasons meant days growing shorter. Shorter days meant less hours at the forge to continue doing her lessons. She did come in earlier to stoke the fires up for their work, but there was no changing the fact that for now they couldn't work as many hours. There wasn't enough light to safely work with, and so Lauri-Ell was left to explore in the evening.

Well, she was exploring because the strangeness hadn't ended around her apartment yet. The messages like 'you aren't worthy' and 'you pretend to be human' and all the like in her apartment was frustrating right now. So she had not wished to go home yet, and so explorations.

Which in this moment meant standing outside of a structure she didn't recognize.

"Excuse me," she says to someone passing nearby, looking quite confused, "but what is this place?"

Dean, for his part did his best to keep busy is this strange new city. Fortunately, dogs were resiliant so he was back in the rooms he shared with Sam. He needed something to do, he isn’t the greatest at sitting around twiddling his thumbs. He decides that going out is the way to go. A good way for him to meet new people and begin to forge a new life for himself.

Jack knows he’s earned it.

His musing is interrupted by a question that Dean almost missed. “What did you say? Sorry, I was a little lost there for a minute,” Dean gave her his most charming smile. He glanced at the building behind her. “Hey, are you going to the movies?”

Charming was it? The massive, nearly seven foot tall blue woman with far too many muscles didn't even know what charming people are, so really, she just looks at him curiously.

"What is a movie?"

Okay, so Dean might not be used to seeing ripped 7 ft women, but that didn't mean that he couldn't play it cool.

"Like pictures on a screen... with words and sometimes if they don't suck, good music. You've never been?"

[kree_soldieress]

Ah! That sounded somewhat familiar.

"You mean like human 'televisions'. And the 'Real Housewives'? Yes, that is interesting. I did not know that humans gathered in central locations to watch these things."

[garrrr]

Gar looks up at the stranger when she speaks to him and he stops to answer her. He grins at the question as he glances at the building.

“It’s a movie theater,” he says, gesturing at the building. “…Do you know what a movie is?”

Movie. That sounds like a very weird verb, but clearly he's using it as a noun. Hoe strange.

"No, I do no. I'm very uncertain as to just what you mean."

[garrrr]

Oh. Yeah. He figured but he grins at the confirmation of his suspicion.

“Then you have to see one,” he says in lieu of offering an actual explanation of what a movie is.

Does she? Lauri looks surprised.

"Is this a rule? Oh no, I do not wish to violate the law."

The woman really was worried now.

[garrrr]

"Oh..." Gar shakes his head fervently.

"It's not a law it's just they're amazing and everyone should experience them!"

[kree_soldieress]

Oh, that's much better. She would not have wanted to be in violation of the law here.

"If I should experience them, I should go and experience, yes?"

[garrrr]

"Yes, I can go with you if you want," Gar offers, grinning. He loves movies after all and it would be fun to see someone experiencing one for the first time.

Wait, company to explain it? She grinned and nodded.

"I would like it. There seem to be a few options. I do not even know what the names mean," she said, her voice filled with excitement. This was something new and she liked new things.

[garrrr]

Gar is happy with that response and he nods. "Well I can help you with that." And with anything else she needs to know about movies!

Oh she needs to know everything.

"Is there an exchange of funds required? I could handle it for us."

[garrrr]

"Yeah, it's usually not all that much."

[kree_soldieress]

Not much didn't mean it was nothing.

"I will still pay. It is a courtesy."

[garrrr]

"I won't argue with you about it," he says and nods towards the place. "Want to get started now?"

[kree_soldieress]

Ah good, she does not like arguments. Lauri smiles and nods.

“I would very much like that. Let us go explore these.”

[garrrr]

Gar nods and he starts to head off in the right direction. He's curious to see what this place has to offer in movie selections and quality. Sometimes the Sphere had been questionable at best!

Selection wasn’t that abundant yet, all things being as they were. A nice black and white romance movie, something with a more crime drama edge where the posters clearly indicated that you were supposed to root for the bad guys, and some inspirational thing about a boy and his chocobo.

There was always going ot be something about a chocobo more likely than not.

“Which of these seems most suitable?” Lauri asked, gesturing to the displayed posters. Clearly they were advertisements of some ilk.

Gar studies the posters thoughtfully. "Well, do you like romance stories?"

And here came the question that would no doubt be troubling.

“What’s a ‘romance story’?”

[garrrr]

Gar blinks a little as he looks at her in shock at the question. Oh, this was going to be different wasn't it? "Like a love story?" he asks hopefully.

[kree_soldieress]

"Oh! I've heard of those. They are stories about people coming to form strong social bonds!"

Okay, love is a strange concept for her too.

[garrrr]

"Yes," Gar says with a quick grin. That's close enough anyway. "Would you like to try that one?"

[kree_soldieress]

"Yes please!" Lauri smiled widely. "Learning of human group habits would be educational!"

[garrrr]

Gar snorts slightly. He couldn't help it just a little bit.

"What are you?" he asks plainly but time to go about getting to the correct theater with snacks and all that.

[kree_soldieress]

"I am Kree. We are a species of interstellar warriors, or we were. Ours is a noble empire now, ruled by the Emperor Theodore Kaplan-Altman and his human husband, Prince William Kaplan-Altman, both raised of Earth."

So there, some small things. Of course she had no clue that Gar was now, sort of, dating the brother of those royals.

That... sounds... really, really familiar but with the use of full names and all that he doesn't quite make the connection all the way but his brows furrow as it tickles his brain.

"Oh, So... you're like an alien then. Cool," he knows an alien after all!

[kree_soldieress]

Yes, he's missing that one because Lauri-ell doesn't really do well at shorter names for them all.

"Of course. I am Kree. My skin is blue, was this a shock?"

[garrrr]

"Not really," Gar laughs, tilting his head as he looks at her again. "Sometimes I get a bit green so I don't assume with skin color."

Huh, that was interesting.

"You are Skrull then?"

[garrrr]

Gar blinks and then slowly shakes his head. "No? I'm human."

[kree_soldieress]

"Ah, forgive me. Green and shape-shifting is very Skrull to my sensibilities. I should not judge books by their covers."

[garrrr]

"Oh," Gar shakes his head. "I haven't met one before, I think..."

He tilts his head. "I couldn't always shapeshift."

[kree_soldieress]

Ah, that definitely meant he was not Skrull. She moved to the counter and bought them tickets, and then gestured for him to lead her in.

"Are you happy with your power?"

[garrrr]

Gar does lead the way, smiling as he goes and he shoves his hands into his pockets as he glances around and then leads her to a seat towards the middle of the theater.

"I am, yeah, most of the time."

Sometimes it could be complicated.

[kree_soldieress]

"Which implies there are times you are not," she asked as she settled, considering Gar. "Are you unhappy?"

[garrrr]

"People can manipulate it... and..." Gar shrugs, pressing a smile forward again. No need to drag the mood down. "But it's fun most of the time! I'm happy."

[kree_soldieress]

"I'm glad you're happy," Lauri-Ell answered with a smile. "We all deserve happy."
