Does This Count As A Haunting?
Who; Nida & Ignis
What; June Event
Where; Around the city
When; June 25th
Warnings; CW: Event typical violence, traumatic memories, attempted murder
Always Shadowed By Your Memory [Closed to Ignis]
It starts with a flash of a certain shade of red metal. The glint of light, caught when Nida was walking home after a shift, stopped him in his tracks. He sensed the wafting power of magic, but as ever couldn't tell what it was, just where. In the same direction as the flash of light.
Nothing could make Nida keep from moving at that flash of color. Because in his mind it equated with one thing and one thing only. Which was, sadly enough, a man that he desperately wished wouldn't show up here. So he began to follow, a slow prowling follow after a figure that with, more time and attention, he found to be wearing a red coat, not to mention the red hair. And that was enough to make him feel sick to his stomach.
"Elijah," he mumbled under his breath as he saw the figure pause and look around, catching sight of those brilliant blue eyes.
And that was when Nida made the worst mistake possible. Once Elijah disappeared into the alley, Nida went and followed. The red-clad figure was there, further ahead of him, almost in the reach of a quick blade. Nida came to a stop and then saw the man turning around to look at him. The cocky smile was there, the perfect curve of lips that once held Nida at the end of a hook, looking for more.
Which was when Siren screamed of wrongness in his head and the illusion faded. Nida was too stunned by that to do much but stare in shock as a 'fist' made of broken pieces of cobble stones pounded against his head.

"Hyne take you," Nida hissed, moving closer to try and get the creature to not run at a nearby child.

"This reminds me of Altissia." he declared, working his Fire daggers at the damn thing. That was where he, Gladio and Prompto had to clear out the citizens there for for Lady Camelia Claustra per her pact with Noct, in order to make way for Lady Lunafreya and the subsequent summoning of Leviathan.

"We'll swap stories. I can tell you about Fisherman's Horizon."
no subject
And while he had no idea what Fisherman's Horizon was, it did remind him of Noct and his love of fishing. But he had mere moments to think on it before it turned to dash after Nida again.

"Fall back. It seems to go after what's closest."
And then there was Nida, staying close, luring the creature to the dock itself.
"Ig, can you swim?"
no subject
At the question though Ignis nodded.
"Of course I can swim."
He'd done that in Altissia.

The waves started to rise almost immediately, and there, upon a rock in the water, was Siren. The woman was just there, wings unfolding as the woman upon the rocks produced a harp and began to sing. The sea swelled with the music, rising in tendrils of water that rose from the water and split around Nida to grab the creature before it could touch him. The thing was dragged into the waters, constantly badgered by more curls of water.
When it all fades away it's just Nida left standing on the dock, looking about ready to collapse.

He was mesmerized by it as he always was back home whenever Noct called one of the Six. And he recalled too how much the king said a lot was taken out of him after a summoning. Of course Nida looked very much that way now and Ignis ran to catch a hold of him before he fell.

"That... wasn't that much of a problem back home. Less magic in the air maybe?"
He could feel Siren's apology. All he cared about was Ignis.
no subject
"Let's get you home and resting." And having said that, Ignis bent a little to allow Nida's arm to drape over his neck.
no subject
"Oh beloved, I'd be very happy to do that," Nida said, reaching up to put his arm around Ignis's neck. Yep, made sense to him. "Can you carry some of my weight? You might need to take my weapons."

"Hey hun. You were amazing."

He didn't at all think he would have survived. Nida was realistic about his skills.
"We work together well."
no subject
Ever the guardian, that was Ignis.
no subject
Which he was patently against, thanks. He'd moved part the part in his life where he could possibly accept it.

"I'll even listen to your insistence that it's best for me."
Still, he did sway just enough to kiss Ignis. "I love you. Think I wanna marry you."

Ignis might be rocking the venue and food, but Nida had agreed to confirm the flowers this week, and there was the clothes which he was supposed to get picked up and discuss alterations on as well. They both had their roles to play. He just liked to leave Ignis the ones about making things taste good.

"The summer is dwindling down and in no time it will be time to exchange our vows."
no subject
It would make him happy. Those tones, those smells, those feels, that was right. And beautiful. Like Ignis was to him.
no subject
Making Nida happy Ignis had found, was easy. It really didn't take much to make the man smile at the very least, and he couldn't wait to see how gorgeous Nida would be all dressed up. And the thought of exchanging vows made him both nervous and excited.
no subject
Those were always so much fun.
"Alright, help me stumble home?"
