Sam had been saving his gold recently and managed to save up enough for a sword of some kind. It wasn't the kind of weapon he was used to, but it would do in the end. Then he had found a small clearing outside town that would do for a training ground for now. He can currently be found going through a simple exercise with his new blade. His back is turned to the road but that doesn't mean he isn't unaware of his surroundings. You might not want to sneak up on him however.
