I believe it would, though I say that without much knowledge of portals or magic. It just seems like the sort of thing that would be quite complicated to grab specific people. [He smiled a little, if his responses since arriving were anything to go by…] I think we’ll find that we will, or at least many of us will. I’ve found people to be genuinely helpful so far, or at least agreeable enough to stop and talk to someone new.

There could be things they don’t want us to know, or things they aren’t sure they want us to know yet. People in charge sometimes make decisions to hide things, not necessarily for nefarious reasons but… [He didn’t mean to alarm her, of course, but it seemed safer to warn her of the possibility. Sometimes when people got too close to the truth, things went badly for them…] I don’t know what I think of them, if I’m being entirely honest. They could be good for all I know… But it would be careless of me to not at least consider that they might bad, or that they haven’t been entirely honest with us.
