There's a lot to be said about how weird it was to be in a place like this and still be able to feel. Feel in a way he had lost so long ago, the world feeling warm and distant somewhere in himself that didn't... didn't fully make sense. Which of course only led to him wandering, his head spinning with a sense he had forgotten. With the curl of a voice caressing his mind, cradling him with warmth and promise, the touch of a seaside breeze caressing him with all the comfort he could offer.

Magic. He can taste it in the air, and as he wanders the city, Nida will sometimes stop, abruptly, to look at people near him, or some bauble on display. Sometimes his head snaps up quickly, and he moves quickly down an alley or behind a building, only to be visible walking the top of the structure moments later. All of it with an aura of someone watching. Seeking.

"Hyne," he curses as he moves through the Historium, trying to find just what was setting his senses off there.

Or he's there on the top of the Red housing building, his eyes flirting over the city as he draws a map of the place from the high vantage, mumbling under his breath in another language.

There's even a moment when he nearly trips over someone in the market, dancing quickly aside at the last moment because his eyes had been caught up toward the path leading down toward the Curio shop.

In the end, though, he settles down near the fountain, sitting in a meditative position, eyes closed. Until, though, someone started to get close. Then his eyes flashed open, a brief flash of bronze light in his eyes before it settled back down, leaving attentive dark eyes gazing at whoever has approached.

"You feel like magic."

[OOC: Nida is capable of sensing magic, and because of his own abilities, drawing magic from the people around him. That means everyone not-native to the Aterat pings on his senses some because of a natural spell welling up from them in his senses. He can draw a small amount of that power from them, but only with permission which he will seek in-character permission every time. Feel free to message me here or on churbooseanon to discuss.]

"No but it's possible that we aren't from the same world because..." Her fingers danced across her lower lip as her mouth dipped into a frown. "The Aeon's are gone now. I used the magic of the Sending to allow them to rest. They've been awake for so long, trapped and I do miss them but I'm happy too. They're able to rest now."

It was easy to forget that the spirits of the summons were alive and never ending.

"I can't summon here but my summoner's arts are still with me."

Sending? That's... not a concept he's familiar with. But he is intrigued.

"I carry the spirit Siren within me, and she can be summoned."

But he wonders if that will make her sad. That he has what she doesn't.

"Is that so? Is she always with you?" It seemed odd. Even if the summon's hadn't been sent to the farplane, Yuna wouldn't have been able to summon them while she was in a different world. They were tied to Spira. It was interesting but also a little sad.

How long had this spirit been living within him? Was she lonely?

Yuna felt bad for Siren and hoped that one day the lost spirit would be able to find a place to rest.

"She is. To survive she needs some form of power to feed off of, and I'm the power," he shrugs. So yes, Siren won't be going anywhere for a while.

"We protect each other."

Yuna smiled. "I'm glad. It's good to have friends at her side." At least, that was how she interpreted the situation.

"I hope she remains safe and happy." She hoped that Siren was about to rest one day and not be cursed to live for over a thousand years. "Which means you better stay safe too. She's depending on you."

Most people don't really care about GFs like that, and Nida smiles warmly at her.

"We depend on each other. She gives me magic. I give her life."

"So, you could say that you're friends?" She asked curiously.

Yuna knew that not everyone thought of Aeon's or summons as friends but Yuna had the unique ability to speak to the spirits around her and it made her feel connected to such beings. It didn't matter that they might be from another world.

[skyward_eyes]

"Why wouldn't she be my friend? She's my partner, she's my companion. We're connected."

Sure, there were people that used GFs for other purposes, but Nida... always felt connected to Siren. Perhaps it was just because of the fact that they shared elemental affinities.

"Good." Yuna grinned and stood up confidently, her hands clapping together as she spoke. "I just wanted to hear you say it. You seemed to reserved. I didn't know if something was wrong."

"I didn't introduce myself. My name is Yuna. It's nice to meet you."

Of course he's reserved. She's a stranger, they're talking about things he doesn't share with everyone, and she seems... odd about Siren. And summoning.

"Nida Nomura. The pleasure is mine," he assures her, offering a low bow.

"It's nice to meet you Nida. I guess we're both stuck here, huh?" She lightly tapped her chin before nodding her head. "Well, I don't know what's going to happen but if you and Siren ever need help, you can call on me. I don't have the Aeon's anymore but I have other magic that helps me."

Her confidence and smile never waver.

"And if you can't find me... well, you can contact your friendly neighborhood Gullwings!" It would eventually be a fully formed group.

[skyward_eyes]

"I've never found a way to willingly leave these places so yes, stuck seems accurate."

But the offer of assistance earns a brief nod from him. Not that he'd call on her. He didn't like others fighting his battles for him.

"I think so but we can make the best of it. Maybe if we help here, we'll be able to return home again." Yuna's hope was an amazing thing and despite her past, she was still eager to help people in need.

"Is there anything I can help you with now Nida? You seemed deep in thought when I had first approached and I don't know, maybe I can help."

[skyward_eyes]

"Not unless you have magic you can share," Nida decides after a long moment. He isn't even touching the idea of going home again. He's pretty sure he can't.

[whereishe]

Yuna shook her head. "My magic is from my world. I don't think I can teach it to someone else." Unless he wanted to use his soul to fuel healing spells. "I could try."

[skyward_eyes]

"Perhaps not. But in my world? Magic can, to some degree, be drawn from others. People are natural wellsprings of power, and people with the right training can tap into that."

And isn't more magic a good thing?

[whereishe]

"It is similar in Spira except that many need to be born with the talent to access the magic around and inside of us. Some are never able too." It helps that no one in Spira has a physical form and everyone was made up of magic to some degree.

"Do you think that would be similar?"

[skyward_eyes]

Born with a talent. Nida shudders at the thought. He'd rather not consider those individuals born with a talent for magic.

"I'm not certain. I met a man here from a very different world to mine, and from him I was able to draw forth water spells. Not many, but some."

So it was useful. But this place was so different that he wasn't always certain what he did and didn't need. What he would and wouldn't find.

"Well. I can try and teach you how to heal. At least a simple cure spell. It's the easiest to learn." She placed her palms over her chest and smiled. "You just need to find the warmth within yourself and feel it moving out to your palms. That desire to give all of yourself to heal someone."

Magic in Yuna's world stemmed from Faith, not in Yevon but in the magic of the planet and of each individual.

Well no one in his world but Sorceresses can just cast from a feeling. Or so Nida believes. For not he just offers a smile and shakes his head, a hand up to indicate she doesn’t need to explain further.

“I have a stack of healing spells in my metaphorical pocket. No Edina’s, but healing I can do. A bit. I have to be frugal with it, I only have 32 charges.”

"Esuna?" Her head tilted curiously to the side. "You can't cast that but you can heal? They're the same type of magic." Yuna really didn't understand what he was talking about.

Charges?

Magic wasn't a finite thing in Spira: it was life, it was everywhere, it was everything and it returned to the world but was reshaped when used. The Aeon's were no different. They were the power of a spirit, of life.

The woman knows what an Esuna is. And Nida's now staring at her with a good bit more intrigue than before.

"They might be in the same class of magic, being white magic spells, but that doesn't mean they are interchangeable. Hyne, I can't even do higher level curative spells."

"Is that so? I would like to hear more about your spells. That is--" Her head tilted curiously to the side. "The way they are taught in your world. I have access to different kinds of magic but if I have access to one type then I can learn any within that type of magic."

Hopefully that made sense.

"I don't learn magic. I draw it from nature," Nida says.

You can just LEARN magic? That's.. so impossible. He looks confused.

[whereishe]

"Yes. There are some that draw it from nature but you can also draw from within. If you have the power or talent to do so." She had the talent but many in Spira did not. It was one of the traits that helped decide those who could become summoners.

"What's in you is the same magic that's in nature. It comes from life."
