With what happened last time there were explosions and shit like this, now may be as good as time as any to share some information. Maybe it'll be helpful to you investigation types.
[ There's a brief pause while Shalimar tries to collect exactly what she wants to say. There's a lot of shit she still isn't comfortable letting people here know about her. Trust has never been her strong suit. ]
I've got a talent for finding things and deep in the forest, well, we definitely found some shit. There are other people here, kind of like us. One of them spoke to us. He didn't seem to thrilled to be doing it, but he was more tolerant of my questions that I expected. His name is Lessch, but if I were you I wouldn't go looking for him or his people. Don't think they really want to be bothered by us. [ She's pretty sure they don't even really like the people here. ]
If you do find him or any of his people out there be polite, be respectful, and try not to freak out over how they look. [ A beat ] They're lizardmen. [ Animal people are perfectly normal okay. ] From what we could understand based on what he was telling us, their world was destroyed and they came here a long time ago the same way we did. Not really sure if I'm a fan of the implications that may have. [ And she couldn't deny she was worried there. ]
He said something about there being a bridge, I'm guessing he meant between worlds? I don't know, this is beyond even the weird shit in my life. Evidently the bridge stringed worlds together, it had a power source that leashed it, but now the leash is gone and anything can travel through. Guess our hosts had a little accident.
[ Another beat ] Besides that he warned us not to go too deep into the forest. Guess there are trees in there that don't like us outlanders and might eat you. [ And that's where she just ends things. ]

We could help each other.

[She pause thoughtfully.]
Perhaps we should offer them something. Do you know what they might need? Even if they don't want to work with us, they should know that they have our support should they need it.
no subject
[ If they weren't human then she could get that. ]
I asked, he said no. [ Not fully true and she corrected herself after a momentary pause. ] He said all they needed was for us to not come and take things. Or bother them. Couldn't tell if that's just because he's had some really bad experiences or if he really just doesn't want us around.

I see.
Well, there have been earthquakes recently. Perhaps we could bring them tools... in case they need them and then leave. They can use them or not.
no subject
[ She chuckles. ] I think they have tools.
no subject
Oh well. I'm sure we'll think of something but until then we should likely leave them alone. Can you give me a map of where they are? I can keep it at the Gullwing office to make sure people know not to travel there. We try and keep as much information as we can.

Might I inquire as to how long ago this talk took place?

However if they came here as we did and have been here for quite a spell with no known way to get back to their home world, then having such a talk would prove fruitless for both sides.
no subject
Can't say it wouldn't be worth it to at least try talking to him again.

[Especially if Shalimar herself had asked a lot of questions, there were only a few more things he needed to know. But his own was if people could be sent home together even if one was a stranger to that particular world. That was really the major one that he had. And if there was something he had to do to help gain that knowledge (providing they had it) he could do that too. That was something he was used to from back home after all. He highly doubted that he could do anything to fix the issue but that was his only other question honestly.]
In that case I will endeavour to ask.

....and I'm sorry...trees?
no subject
The trees are what you should worried about.
no subject
...why's that?
no subject
They watch and then they move.
no subject
...we've got moving trees now. Splendid.
no subject
Pretty sure they do more than just move.
