Ignis made a nice dinner for himself and Nida. He explained that the clean up and everything was on him as well although he wasn't quite sure how well that went over. After dinner, he served tea and had coffee for himself along with dessert. Once they were served, he went into great detail, explaining what happened with Mono's other..personality, and what had been said, how it was an unavoidable fate.

Now he sat there, almost absently toying with his dessert, wondering what was going on inside of his husband's mind. And while silences between them were comfortable, Nida more than likely was digesting his report. with a sigh, he set down his coffee cup after taking a sip and looked at his mate.

"So I would like to hear your thoughts on what I've said."

"I would fight to do so," Nida agrees. "You and me and him, back to your world."

Not that Nida knows it's possible. All he knows is that he doesn't want to go home himself.

"That's quite the lovely picture that we shall have to paint." Ignis replied, pushing his own thoughts aside as he picked his coffee cup back up. He'd left Noctis laying unprotected and it still irked him.

"However, this other side of Mono seems to believe that twisted fate as inevitable."

Inevitable fate. Nida stares down at his own cup. What a question to face.

"If you took my experiences back home in stride, he might well be correct."

Green eyes looked across the table at Nida.

A sigh came out and Ignis shook his head. "I won't allow our son to succumb to such a fate. I will face who or whatever I must to prevent that horrid alternative."

Son? Well that leads to a soft smile from Nida. He'd viewed the boy as more of a little brother, but he supposes he can't argue that part.

"Then you won't need to face it alone."

He waited for an argument that he wasn't going to deal with, but was surprised that none came.

So he smiled. "We won't let him face it alone."

Why would Nida argue? His own life back home was defined by people being bound to the cruel fates of time and he hates it. A lot actually.

"I would never allow either of you to face anything alone if I could stop it."

"Then it's settled." Ignis replied agreeably. He then got up and looked back over his shoulder. "I'm making more coffee, can I interest you in that or some tea? If you're hungry I can whip up something to eat as well."

[skyward_eyes]

"Coffee. This is something that needs more caffeine to be stomached," Nida sighs, rubbing at his temples.

"You know, beloved, I would have thought that in leaving my world I'd be free of time based shenanigans."

"Coming right up." Ignis replied softly. As he worked and Nida spoke again, Ignis nodded sympathetically.

"I had no idea that a new world had such issues."

[skyward_eyes]

"I'm starting to think many worlds have issues with pre-destination. There is no denying it played a factor in my life. More than a few times over. And now it is coming for Mono."

And that went without mentioning Ignis's own issues back home.

There was the slightest growl in the back of Ignis' throat with this whole predestination monster looming. Ignis had a whole language for it, but he refrained from conveying his disgust. That wasn't going to help alleviate Mono or the situation. Strategy, intel gathering and tactics were far more his style.

And his daggers would do the talking for him when he needed them to.

Sighing the advisor just started with coffee.

"Sounds like a family issue."

[skyward_eyes]

"I guess it is," Nida says. "I think that's the family we've gone and chosen for ourselves. But we can fight for it. Fight for him."

There was no way to break the timeloop of Nida's world, but he didn't intend to go back so that is fine. He'll fight other issues when they come up though. Like this one.

He couldn't help but smile. This was the first conversation where Nida referred to them as a family and he was just going to enjoy it and not point it out. 'Leave well enough alone' as he often said back home. So Ignis just lifted his head and smiled at his husband.

"That is the plan darling."

Good. Nida smiles and pulls his partner in to give him a light kiss.

"I'll always fight time and fate for you and our family."

"And you won't do it alone." Ignis promised, enjoying that light kiss that his husband had given him.

He tucked away knowledge of non fight and admission. Perhaps that was a card he would need to use for another day.

No, he won't. That was the wonder of what they have chosen for themselves. The connection they made with each other.

"Guess we'll have to make sure we're ready for it. And him."

[faithfulsupport]

Ignis sighed and took a sip of coffee.

"Yes, which will mean more training of course."

[skyward_eyes]

A lot more training.

"I want to teach him a weapon then. The knife I gave him seems right for his side, but I'm not good with them."

[faithfulsupport]

"I can surely assist there." Ignis replied helpfully. However, he did wonder at the choice.

"But I wonder why you would choose a knife."

[skyward_eyes]

"He's quick, he's stealthy. Can hide the blade, hit quick, get away."

Seems the best in his mind.

[faithfulsupport]

Ignis nodded. Those little legs could be fast and the boy already had experience at moving quickly no doubt considering his employment.

"I suppose you haven't brought this up to him at all?"

[skyward_eyes]

Of course he hasn't brought it up yet.

"It wasn't needed. We focused on his stealth, and I encouraged him to work on his own powers. But combat? No, not really."

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"I do suppose that will come in time."

[skyward_eyes]

"It will. Soon if we can manage it," Nida sighs.
