Ren studiously made note of all components for the spell, jotting little notes in the margins on where he believed it best to try and acquire the items. Some of them he'd never seen around the city before, others he wasn't overly familiar with in the first place and might need to ask around, or just use the Professor as a resource. One of the things he appreciated about he Professor was his willingness to wait until Ren was ready to explain things to him. He never pushed, never expected more information than he was given, he just trusted Ren to share when he felt comfortable.

That and Waver treated him like an equal, not a child, and that went a long way to increase the young man's trust, too.
