ACTION - Orphanage & Then Around Town

[There is an uproar within the orphanage as the sleeping princess awakes to the cool wintery season. After calming those who run the children's center and assuring them that she is alright, Luna decides to look for those she's grown close to over her time living in Aterat City. The orphanage allows her to leave without fuss after promising to stop by the doctor that regularly takes care of the children's health.

It's been over two months, paling in comparison to the years that her mother had been asleep, but it feels as if an infinite amount of time has passed. There is a new chill in the air and the warm jacket that Luna had been given barely keeps the nipping cold from touching her skin. Her nose is red while soft white puffs cloud the air with each breath.

Her first stop is the Watts-Marysh residence and from there she's going to attempt to meet everyone who might have wondered where she disappeared too. She's a little shy, a little embarrassed, and while Luna holds her larger writing pad to her chest, she greets each person with a soft mousey “H-hello?”

She then lift's the pad with a pre-written script explaining her situation 'I apologize for my absence. I have been asleep for the last two months. Prior to that I had practiced talking to surprise everyone but it hurts my throat to talk for too long. I didn't want to keep it a secret anymore. Are you okay?'

Good Morning,

I was informed that I had been asleep for a long time. It seems similar to my mother's curse. I am going to see a doctor first but I would appreciate anyone to let me know about the time that has passed.

Is everyone healthy?

Luna is Veronica's height so it doesn't take much for the tall knight of Heliodor to notice her. Hendrik had been walking around town, still searching to get his bearings and so he happened upon the tiny Princess.

Hearing the hello, the knight got down on one knee so that he could properly speak to her. He waited for her to speak further, somehow believing she was in lost or need of aid. His blue eyes looked over the pre written note and he nodded.

"You now find yourself in Winter. There was a ball that you just missed attending, but I am alright." His serious face looked at hers. "The better question is, are you in need of assistance?"

[This got Terra's attention right away.]

Luna? Are you alright? Where are you?

[Luna smiles at the familiar name, happy to see someone familiar to her.]

It's good to hear from you Terra.
I'm alright, thank you for asking.
I am currently heading towards the park though it's a bit cold so I don't know if I'll remain outside.

Luna stopped and looked up at the older gentlemen. Her first reaction was panic but she silently reminded herself that the adults in this world were friendly and not like the cruel king and queen. Her surprise faded into a smile as she turned the page of her book and began to write.

'A ball? Truly?' She was a little sad that she missed it. She'd never been allowed to attend any balls when living with her mother. Not only was her mother separated from noble society but she was too young.

'Will you tell me about it?'

Are you going to be okay by yourself?

[He's going to worry here.]

To appear less threatening was why Hendrik had knelt to do his best to become more eye level to the little girl. And it was also why he had gone a little slower, just to give her time to realize that he would do her no harm.

However, he was curious as she started writing and nodded at the note.

"I have never seen what they called a christmas tree. It had lights and decorations on it. We were also given gifts, and according to those I spoke with, it is indeed a tradition associated with it. But there were many dances and plenty of food."

It had been unlike anything he'd ever seen.

LUNA! Oh god, I've been so worried for you my dear! Oh my darling, might I see you?

Yes! I was headed to your home unless you are at work.
The snow is so bright, I'm not sure what time it is.

Luna didn't entirely follow what he was talking about. She had no concept of Christmas or the joys of decorating a tree inside.

She turned over the paper and began to write however it took her a bit longer to translate her thoughts into the written word. "Do you mean cenone?" The page lowers and the words slowly form on Luna's lips. "Natale. W-we don't have d-dec-" She paused and wrote again. "We do not have decorated trees but there is a feast and mother would give me and my brother a gift." The gifts were small as was the celebration but Luna enjoyed any time she got to spend with both Sole and her mother.
"How do you celebrate winter?"

Is the snow dangerous?

[She hadn't been allowed outside the main castle often and when there was a harsh chill they all remained in her mothers room so only a single fire had to be lit to keep them warm.]

Not if you're careful and stay warm.

[That had him wonder if she had clothes that would keep her warm enough.]

He shook his head at the unfamiliar word. "I have not heard of a celebration called cenone. But if that is in your world, perhaps you might tell me more about it at some point."

Because he wasn't going to try and force her to talk or linger in his presence if she didn't feel up to it.

The knight nodded after he read her explanation. "That sounds similar to this christmas, although I must admit, I am no expert in it."

At the part about how he celebrated winter, Hendrik shook his head. "They do celebrate Winter itself, but it is nothing like it is done here. There are simply feasts held in the banquet hall."

Gifts may have been distributed among the Royal family but that was a private celebration and Hendrik never really cared to ask. The soldiers got a day off here and there and alcohol and food were plentiful.

Work matters less than checking in on you, my little Princess. I will be there. I don't have Pretzel today, so forgive his lack of presence.
