Yes, Mono might feel bad if he thought they were going out of their way and troubling themselves on his account. Even if it was reasonable for any adults to do so for a child, given the situation. But he wouldn’t understand it that way, so secrecy and being inconspicuous about it were the way to go. There was definitely the risk of nightmares, and catching on to them could be difficult considering the boy was once again used to being silent and muffling his louder reactions to things in favour of not attracting attention from those who would do him harm.
