“That tends to vary from one project to the next.” Waver responded, brow rising slightly at the question. It was a good question, of course, but it was an odd one to ask when most might be more curious about the magical items themselves. That made him wonder what the teen knew about these things already… “But for a start, I’ll need a lot of specific herbs and other assorted plantlife, along with certain minerals.”
There were some things, though, that one might not find so easily. “Some materials are a little more complicated to get one’s hands on, of course. Some spells might call for bones or blood from specific creatures, along with other things not so easily sourced.” He knew a certain leather clad mercenary who tended to collect those of a human nature for his magecraft given he was a necromancer. “Though my own craft doesn’t tend to slip into that territory.” Frankly, he wasn’t willing to deal with chickens again outside a summoning ritual for the next grail war. They were menaces to deal with, both before and during the ritual.
Standing by, he watched as Ren worked on the door. The telling crack of the wood made him wince slightly… “Well, at least it’s open now.” He commented dryly, finally moving forward to peer inside. But at least the door was open, and he was going to need to get the door replace anyway, so the jam could be replaced at the same time. Well, provided the building was suitable to his needs, but the main thing was they could actually look at it now. “Thanks. This saves me a considerable amount of time and another long walk.”
It was dark, considering the grim still covering the windows. But he could make out some things within the shadows. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his lighter to offer some dim lighting. Sure, he could call up light with his magic, but that was a waste of mana that he tended to reserve for situations where it was more a necessity than a convenience.
