Night Beach; Fireworks

When Ivy had first arrived in this place she'd methodically kept track of changes and arrivals. Over time she'd laxed on doing that, falling into a sort of sulky mood that kept her separated from most. In a weird way this place had become too normal for her. It'd crossed a line from being a place she could get used to into a place that she felt she didn't belong in. People married and started entire lives here that seemed almost picture perfect. Ivy's life wasn't picture perfect though and it never had been. There was nothing in her past besides darkness and a torrent of emotions that she constantly seemed to be warring with. How was she supposed to accept this picture perfect little world? This place that had community potlucks and people starting their own lives almost completely separate from what they had back home.

Was that the secret? You just had to find a way to separate yourself from who you were back there? She wasn't certain, but it was thoughts like these that were keeping her up during the day. The lack of sleep was only making her more moody and for a time she'd just avoided the new beach. It was another thing that people were treating like some good addition, some present to be excited about. Or at least that was how the locals acted. Ivy on the other hand was still suspicious. So many things lately had been oddly positive that she found herself even more on edge waiting for the shoe to drop.

Curiosity got the best of her today though. Like most Inderlanders she slept during the day. Or at least she tried to. It'd been completely unsuccessful today and so she'd thrown on a red dress and grabbed a large hat and headed out to the beach. The sun was starting to set and her hope would be that she'd avoid running into anyone. The last thing she wanted was to find a crowd of people while she was wearing clothes that actually showed the strange scars on her neck and the large silver cross she always wore. Who came to the beach at night anyway?

Evidently there was someone here. The fireworks seemed to start just as the night sky fully took over. A part of her thought about just leaving, but she'd come all this way. Might as well see who was putting on the show. She approached Enis' location with footsteps that made no sound at all, only speaking after the pink shower had finished.

"I didn't know they sold fireworks here."
