Yusuke tilted his head, lowering his hands for a moment as she asked him about his habit. “Yes! I find it rather helpful in visualizing what might be contained on the canvas in a pleasing manner.” He responded with a light smile, rather pleased that she thought it was a smart idea. Not everyone quite got it, nor did everyone do it with the frequency that he did… But sometimes Yusuke just had a hard time not finding some inspiration and wanting to see how it might all look in his minds eye on canvas, and framing seemed to help. “I am glad you think so. It’s quite a helpful exercise in my experience.”
Brushing some wrinkles out of the sheet once he had it on the floor and moving to set up the easel, he tilted his head at the question. “Oh! Yes, it is. I’ve had more than a few people suggest I might start being more careful with paint splatter a little more often. And this is your home, after all.” He responded as he tested the legs on his easel to make sure that it was properly stable. His eyes drifted to the sofa curiously, wondering how much paint might be underneath it. “But that is kind of you to say. I’ll remember that in the future. There is something about the flow of creativity that sometimes calls for a bit of a mess, in my experience.” He added with a brighter grin, finally pulling a chair from the table over to sit in front of the canvas and pulling out his supplies to make sure he could access what he needed easily. “Yes, first I start with an outline of the scene to work out the pose and details like lighting and shadow to keep in mind and give myself a starting point.”
As she asked, he tilted his head thoughtfully and studied her position and the way the flowers were hanging into the scene… He hummed lightly, before gesturing slightly. “That is an excellent spot. I can capture both you and the flowers in on the canvas and the lighting is rather pleasant with how it illuminates you and some of the flowers. Perhaps you could look slightly this way…?” He added, wanting to see how her expression might look at a slightly different angle.
