“Yes, we certainly hope to… We have some plans already, some things to work on. I should mm… get back to doing that, now that I’m here again.” Perhaps in the next day or two, he supposed. Painting, small improvements and repairs, his garden… It would be a better use of his time than spending an afternoon or evening in a bar while Rhy was at work. The detective at least knew he needed to try to push past that particular urge. It just wasn’t as easy when he’d been moving almost on autopilot as his habits from his own world were stronger than those he’d formed here right now.
It had been a more expensive addition to the house. If Llewellyn didn’t work a couple jobs and cut back in other areas, he might not have afforded it. But his mind had been set on giving Rhy something beautiful, and he was pretty good at saving and budgeting when there was a need. “I felt rather clever, even if I uh- forgot that sheets and curtains would be needed for it. Luckily someone spoke to the women he works with at the shop and they surprised us both with several sets.” He’d been scrambling to try to try to at least put something up to make it look better for Rhy when they discovered this. It had been rather amusing.
It had all been worth it, though, to surprise his beloved. “I was rather relieved to find that he did love it, though. Surprises are always something of a risk in my experience.” He wasn’t fond of being surprised himself, and the few times he’d tried to surprise someone, it hadn’t gone well. So successful attempts that ended well were always a nice experience… Though Rhy had reminded him that he didn’t need to go to such lengths for him after the fact, Llewellyn always had a hard time remembering that.
