"I-I apologize, Shinjiro," she responded with an icy tone. He wasn't wrong for calling her out in that way, but she still wasn't particularly happy about it.

"I had a choice." That was all she said in response to his statements. None of them were things she could rightly argue with, nor were they things she had the energy to argue with. The only thing she could find to counter was the insistence that, despite her young age when it all had begun, she'd had a choice.

"There are a few other things I want to look at before I head to the apartments. I'm sure you can manage on your own." And so could she.
