“Nah! I do this all the time! And it’s not even that high!” The child responded quickly as he carefully clutched the list in his hands, looking down at the woman curiously. Adults… Always worried about weird stuff! Specifically weird stuff concerning him, he supposed. Well, Tommy had explained it… But that didn’t make it less weird to experience time and time again.
And to be entirely fair to Mitsuru, even if he wasn’t admitting it, Mono fell from varied heights all the time. He wasn’t the most stable on his feet, and sometimes he had to leap before he looked… But he’d been doing really well with his lessons since arriving in this world, and he was getting as good at climbing down as he started with climbing up.
“Okay! I gotta return your list, anyway.” He finally responded a moment or two later, tucking the paper in his pocket for now and working on climbing back down the side of the stall. “I got someone teaching me how to do this better! I climbed up and down the Historium without any ropes already this month!” It was a source of pride, after all, to have managed that when he’d always had a harder time climbing down from heights than going up them.
His feet met the ground soon enough, and he turned quickly to Mitsuru to deliver her lost list, only to trip over an uneven cobblestone and ending up flat on his face. All that and the kid still managed to fall… Drat!
