First đź‘‘ Lost without Direction [Open]

Who; Princess Luna & You!!!
What; Trying to be brave.
Where; Around the city.
When; April 17th - 23rd.
Warnings; MAX CUTNESS

17th - House of Solace Orphanage

A small figure stood outside of the Orphanage with a steady frown pointed at the large building. She understood what it meant but denial crept through her little body like a snake. She wasn't an orphan. Her mother and father were alive but it didn't matter in this kingdom because her family wasn't here with her. She was alone and it was something that she wasn't able to get used to. It'd been two days since she'd first arrived and her loneliness only grew with each passing hour.

The nights were the worst. She didn't want to return to the orphanage where she was forced to try and sleep while unsettling thoughts plagued her. Perhaps she's cursed like her mother. She'd been told that this world wasn't a curse but what else could it be called.

Luna sighed softly before turning away from the Orphanage and walking down the street. When she grew hungry she'd have to return but for now, she was going to avoid the daunting building. Her shoes were a little too big, borrowed from Mono, and every few steps she tripped before regaining her footing once more.

She had no idea where to go or what to do.

20th - Nightime Storm

The nights were the worst and the sudden storm made it unbearable. Luna had hidden under her bed with a blanket over her head for the first hour but she could still hear the rumble and see the bright flashes of light through the nearby window. She cried silently making her throat ache for the voice that she'd lost. She wanted to call someone to come save her but no one could hear her cries.

She thought of her twin brother and knew that he'd have been there with her, holding her to protect her from the angry god that cried out for justice. Sole wasn't with her. It was time for her to be brave.

Luna gathered her blanket and wandered out into the rain. It was difficult to see but she'd been to Mono's home when he'd given her a pair of shoes and she was positive that she knew the way. The wind battered at her tiny form and if she'd been any taller then she would have blown away but she stood strong with her tiny fingers clinging desperately to the blanket wrapped around her shoulders.

Her steps stumbled to a stop when she spotted a figure in the distance. She couldn't make out what it was but stopped, falling to the ground as fear froze her tiny limbs.

23rd - Midday Songs

Her time in the city had been stressful and not without incident but there were calm moments too. In between the hours she found herself looking up at the sky with a thoughtful gaze. Was the storm truly over or was this a lull. Luna had never liked stormy weather and the castle she'd once lived in did nothing to define the noise. It was for this reason that she'd first begun to learn how to play the harp.

The small lyre that she'd been given from Llyewelln sat on her tiny legs as she carefully plucked the cords. The notes were a little different but the strings were the same.

Luna sat on a random street corner and began to gently pluck the lullaby that her mother used to sing to her. It wasn't overly complicated and even when she fumbled she was able to recover and recall the remainder of the song. It was far from perfect and she played one of the sets twice having forgotten what had come next but it was a lovely song. If it wasn't for the frown and slow draw of her fingers it might have sounded happy.

Pretzel didn’t take long to trot over to the bed where she’d curled up. She found one of his favourite places! The comfy bed, newer than the little pillow he’d had in the apartments and definitely had room for two as long as the two in question, was on the smaller side. So it was perfect for a little princess and her wrinkly hero.

Though at the sounds of Llewellyn calling out as he descended the stairs, the hound gave a light bar to let the man know where they were. Either because the hound realized that Luna was quiet and couldn’t speak up for herself, or because he was used to greeting the man upon his arrival. It brought Llewellyn around the corner to the cozy sitting room with a curious little expression as he took in the sight. “There you two are, I uh- see you’ve gotten comfortable.” He commented with a smile, crossing the room and sitting on the arm of the sofa next to the dog bed as he unfolded a blanket.

He didn’t want to disturb how cozy she looked, but the detective couldn’t help but wonder if she’d be more comfortable on the sofa instead. More room, after all, and easier to wrap up in a cozy blanket… But Llewellyn supposed he could address that after. For now, he was hoping to make sure she was warming up. ”Looks like the shirt is fitting alright, and hopefully warmer than your little dress. I’ll hang it to dry with the other things in a little while.” He held out the smaller unfolded blanket to her to start with. “You can wrap this around your shoulders though, if you like. I was thinking you might want something to eat, hm?” Something to eat and a little chat before he got her settled to sleep. Surely she must be a bit hungry after her ordeal.

At least that was how Llewellyn had always felt after being through something, a comforting bit of something to eat. A sandwich, or maybe a bit of soup broth in a mug to help warm her up. Surely they had something like that, and it wouldn’t be too difficult for him to make or reheat… He wouldn’t burn the kitchen down with only that much.

Llewellyn watched as she seemed quite content to remain curled up there with Pretzel, and he was rather glad they had invested in a slightly larger dog bed considering the old pillow he used before would have been far too small… It was a sweet image, really, even if it wasn’t quite where he’d hoped to get her settled for the night. Surely the sofa would be better…

If only they’d had their guest room finished, he supposed, he could have at least moved the two in there as well. Something, he supposed, he should have a word with his husband about finishing should this happen again. Really, Llewellyn realized he was going to have to tell Rhy about all of this as well, because it was going to stick in his mind for a while and he needed to talk to someone about it… Especially in the event that this became a more regular occurrence if Luna found her way here when she didn’t want to be alone.

As she mimed drinking, Llewellyn caught on rather quickly. “You would like something to drink instead? Mm… I can probably manage that.” The detective rubbed the side of his face thoughtfully. Not water. She needed something a little more filling. “Would you like some warm soup broth? Or perhaps a glass of warm milk before you try to get some rest?”

Pausing awkwardly, he realized she might not know how to indicate one or the other. Thoughtfully, he continued a moment later. “If you want broth, then hold up your left hand, or the right if you want milk.”

Llewellyn smiled a little. Clearly, she was exhausted (and he certainly didn’t blame her). So he didn’t take long to heat up some milk and bring her a mug of it to drink.

While she finished it, he gathered up a couple more blankets to tuck her and Pretzel in with (since he seemed quite protective and like he intended to remain glued to her side) for the remainder of the evening. “Get some rest, Luna.” He added softly, taking the mug to return to the kitchen to wash it before finding his way to the sofa to stretch out on and keep an eye on the other two in case they needed him through the night.

He’d return her to the orphanage tomorrow… Even if he realized that he didn’t really want to, not really… But unsure of what Rhy would think of that, he’d have to talk to his husband afterward.

In the meantime, he would do his best to make sure she knew she could visit anytime she needed. Whether she didn’t feel safe somewhere, or needed to talk, or even… even if she just wanted to see her favourite little four-legged friend.
