The way the girl jumped with the thunder only served to continue to remind her of her own situation in Limbo. Her fear mirrored Illyana's own terror when she'd first been taken into the hell dimension at a similar age. They had to have been almost the exact same age, or at least similar enough for Illyana to find herself oddly troubled by the little girl's presence. Why was this place bringing children? They should be home with their own families safe and living a normal life like a normal child.

Why did this stir so much inside of her? She couldn't even place what precisely she was feeling other than the echo of memories flashing inside her mind. Every roar that a demon had let loose had caused her to jump exactly the same way this girl was doing. She'd trembled when the demons had approached and she'd expected even a friendly smile to reveal hidden teeth.

With that in mind she approached as cautiously as she could with her best attempt at a smile. Though, truthfully, her smile was a bit stiff and awkward.

"Do not be scared," she said gently. "It's only thunder and that can't hurt you."
