“That’s the spirit.” He responded with a small grin, “An interpreter would be quite useful, I’d think.” He plucked one of the dinner rolls from his pocket again to start breaking apart and eating while they spoke. “I know I’d like to hear more about it, it would be nice to hear more from them with your help. Might improve um- how I tend to them.” Llewellyn, if anything, wasn’t fond of the idea of treating people as weird just because they could do things he didn’t understand. He was used to being thought of as weird already, and so knew it wasn’t a fun feeling.
At her eager response, Llewellyn nodded quickly with a smile. As if he’d think less of her for being more excited about it. It was sad that she hadn’t had many friends until more recently, of course, but it was good that she was finding them now. The detective was just glad to be counted among them himself, “We certainly will, if I’m at the garden it would be silly for us to not take advantage of the time, hm?” He would bring extra pretzels, or other delicious things from the market to share. The detective was big on sharing food with his friends.
