It was rather nice of Nida to let the kid think he hadn’t been seen, boosting the kid’s confidence in his ability to go unseen and also because it had given him a chance to work up to talking in the first place.

This had at least re-directed his attention from asking about jigs, which he still found a bit confusing, since he hadn’t known it was a tool, either. He’d just heard it used in a phrase on old TV shows once or twice. It was much more interesting to hear about Nida and try to picture the guy being his age… Imagining adults as children was kind of a strange thing. Hard to do…
