That they had more time for themselves was a nice development, even if it might not last... It was still nice. Llewellyn didn’t miss Rhy’s late nights on the council. The nights his husband hadn’t made it back for bed, those had been the nights the detective had inevitably ended up back at his office like he had before they’d been together. Sleep, he found, was easier with the comforting weight of another next to him.

Sure, Rhy might eventually find himself busier again... Or a case would inevitably be serious enough that he might not make it back until it was resolved either... But for now? For now, it was nice, a break that they deserved.

The comment about the weather gets a soft laugh. “I know what you mean... I actually always hated the winter, days are too short, and it gets darker earlier... but I find myself even looking forward to sharing our first here with you.”
