Skatin' my way downtown
Who; Holly + whoever happens upon her!
What; Open log
Where; Meeting square outside the dorms/that general area
When; Early evening
Warnings;Holly
Now here's the thing; Holly's been away from home before, but this whole situation kinda takes the entire cake. Like the whole thing. Fuck your birthday, Timmy.
Has it truly sunk in yet that she's not going home? Not quite, but she likes to think she's handling it pretty well. And by that, she's referring to the fact that she's yet to have an emotional breakdown like a forty-something soccer mom being told her coupon's expired.
So of course, the only thing left for her to do once she'd figured out where her room was to explore a bit more. And when she'd done that, her skates had taken her right back to the dorms, where the opportunity to burn off a little more energy had presented itself. Perhaps not the smartest move while she had no stable source of sustenance, but she'd rather be hungry than bored - and of course, the meeting square wasn't ideal for practice, but she highly doubted that this place had a roller rink of any description.
The sound of her roller blades sound weirdly loud and echo-y without any music blaring from anywhere, and without anyone else around it's easy to forget she's not completely by herself, but it's still soothing to be able to do this at least.

She was dashing from her room in the Blue building, heading towards the groups permanent location when she both spotted and heard Holly skating. She hadn't seen anything like it before and, well, it looked like fun. Her work could be delayed for a bit.
"Excuse me?" She approached Holly with a smile. "What are you doing? It looks like fun." She wished she had something like that. Yuna had a feeling that she'd be able to get a knack for it.

Coming to a stop in front of this new person, Holly gave her a smile right back. "Skatin'! It's not really the same out here, but it's better than nothin'- you never tried it before?"
no subject
If not, Yuna could always heal whatever injury she sustains in the attempt.
no subject
"Sure, why not - I mean, I don't know if these'll fit you right, they're a five an' a half, but if they're kinda small you can still get the idea."
Eventually, she managed to pull them off, striped, socked feet padding over to Yuna and handing the roller blades over, closely followed by her helmet.
"In case y'go for a tumble; gotta keep y'noggin safe."
no subject
"Thank you." She took the skates and began to strap them on in the same fashion she'd seen Holly unstrapping them. There were a few points when Yuna had to redo her work but she eventually got the roller skates on her feet. The helmet was put on her head though Yuna wasn't sure what it would do. Perhaps it was some kind of armor...
"Oh!" She stood up and then promptly lost her footing and slammed butt-first into the ground. "Ouchie."
After quoting her cousin, Yuna rose to her feet and tried again. Now that she knew to bend her knees, it was a lot easier. "You do this all the time?" She asked as she started to slowly get the hang of the skates. It wasn't too hard once she bent her knees and while she tried to find a comparison on Spira, there was nothing like it. Her world didn't really have that many forms of entertainment.

The question gets her attention again though, and she preens a bit at it, smiling brightly. "Mhmm, sure do - got into it when I was like...5, and ever since then I've been totally obsessed. Even skate on a derby team too! Kinda wish there was somewhere here I could practice properly, but eh." She shrugged, "I'll figure somethin' out."
Once Yuna was upright and going, she watched her as she went. "Yeah, y'got it- if y'lean forward a lil more and shift your weight-- yeah, there y'go! I'll tell you how t'stop too, when you feel like you wanna."
no subject
"I think I got it. This isn't too unlike things I've done before. Though it isn't like Blitzball or Spherebreak." She lowered herself to a crouch and began to take off the skates.
"But you can move pretty fast on these. Have you thought about using that?"
no subject
"Oh yeah, totally - you can go super fast on 'em. Especially in a rink, 'cause the floors made for it special and everything. Makes it hurt more if you fall over, but you get used to it, 'cause lemme tell ya, gettin' run over by other skaters sucks way more ass than just fallin' in the first place."
Once they've been handed back over, she happily starts pulling them back on. Her feet had started to feel rather naked without them.
"Hey, by the way, what's y'name? Just realised we've been talkin' this whole time and I never even introduced myself."
With one skate half-strapped up, she stuck her hand out for Yuna to shake. S'only polite, after all.
"I'm Holly."

It was also exciting to try something new.
"I like these but it makes me miss being on the airship. That's how I traveled in Spira. I was able to go anywhere." She missed the freedom of the airship but she wasn't going to stop exploring. "Is that how you traveled? In your world or did it have to do with a job? I became a Sphere hunter."
no subject
Man, the sound of an airship though? That sounded rad as hell to her, and it showed in how her eyes widened in delight.
"Nah, we use trains and planes an' stuff, and I mostly just use a car for work things, but airships sound WAY cooler than any'a those. What d'they look like?"
no subject
"But there was a bridge where the airship was flown. A deck up above that we sometimes used for performances. Then below was the living quarters and bar. And below that was the engine room. It wasn't very big but it was comfortable and I had a love of fun traveling all around Spira."
no subject
"That sounds awesome - I've been on planes a couple'a times, but I get real travel sick, so I normally just stick to travellin' over land."
'Travel sick' was the easiest way to word 'vampires don't do well on journeys that take them over water', at least for now. Holly didn't want what she was to become public knowledge just yet, and it was possibly one of the only subjects she managed to keep from chattering about.

"But I sometimes get dizzy looking up at very tall buildings. I haven't found a way to fix that besides... not looking up." She grinned a little sheepishly.
"If you want to know more you should swing by the Gullwing office. I might be able to sketch something out there."
