People might not be following them, but they did have to keep people out of the creature's fight. Nida didn't want innocents caught up, and as he came out on the busy street he heard people gasping and shouting in shock, clearly aiming to get away. The people definitely caught the creature's attention, and it started to try and lay about itself at hte nearest person.

"Hyne take you," Nida hissed, moving closer to try and get the creature to not run at a nearby child.
