Caelan wasn’t sure if some of the worst he’d seen was by people doing their ‘best.’ Sometimes people were just terrible and didn’t really think beyond their own selfish desires. That said, he can see how there would definitely be situations like that out there... Arkady seemed to be carrying some sort of weight to suggest it anyway, based on her words.

Take away even one person that was trying to do that and it could all fall apart.” Caelan knew his group was good of course, they could function reasonably well without him. It just would throw the balance off, he had certain skill sets the others didn’t, just like they could do things he couldn’t. Everyone was necessary.
